He was on hand when Jack Benny played the violin in his underwear at a party in a Hollywood long past.  He did the Carson "Tonight" show with Angie Dickinson, Carrol O'Connor and Don Rickles - with the guest host being Frank Sinatra.  He was in a position to repeat that story about Phil Silvers and Milton Berle that I won't even repeat here...  Comedy great George Burns had a successful act and an even more successful life.   Show business autobiographies are a staple of my reading habits and this one is preeminent among the ones I've kept to read again.
